Jazz at Lincoln Center and the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs has selected Johnny Rodgers Band to represent them and The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad in their renowned international music programming for 2010. Selected for their great sound, artistic integrity, musical ability and educational skills, the Johnny Rodgers Band will tour internationally with The Rhythm Road program to share their music with the world to promote cross-cultural understanding with special emphasis on countries not regularly visited by American musicians. Check out what Jazz at Lincoln Center will be sharing with the world!

2008 winner of Billboard's World Song Contest, the ASCAP Foundation Song writer award, Backstage Bistro and MAC Award for Best Male NY Debut, and other awards, Johnny Rodgers pleases not only with his original songs but also his boy-next-door charm and creamy, dreamy crooner's voice. Songs for the sophisticated palate. Bubbly and romantic pop ballads, (James)Taylor-laced melodies, and sultry jazz all stirred with piano driven rock.

Several years ago, Liza Minnelli discovered Rodgers and brought him on as a pianist and guest performer on her world tours, and in 2008 he debuted on Broadway in the Tony Award Winning Liza’s at the Palace – and recently filmed for PBS television. Rodgers has also shared the stage with such luminaries as Paul McCartney, Michael Feinstein, Stephen Schwartz, Ann Hampton Callaway, Dave Koz and Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. The Johnny Rodgers Band has performed at centers across the U.S. the likes of Los Angeles Ford Amphitheatre, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the premiere New York City clubs; Arturo Sandoval’s and other Miami Beach jazz clubs; and many music festivals. In 2005, the Band released their debut CD, the heart and soul-infused Box of Photographs. In 2008, they released two EPs: the indie-pop Bound Together, featuring a new Christmas song, and Let’s Make a Date, including a big-band swing duet between Rodgers and Minnelli.
