Making music to live by... Vivian Sessoms, was born and raised in Harlem, New York to Sharmaine, a former jingle & session singer and Lemuel, a well known flautist and percussionist who worked with James Brown throughout his career. She received classical voice and piano instruction from the age of 9, and thereafter won a scholarship to the highly acclaimed AMAS/Eubie Blake Repertory Company headed by the late Rosetta Lenoire. There, she trained in theatre, dance, and music. This led her to radio and television voiceovers. She’s been the voice behind such products as Campbell’s Soup, Hershey’s Chocolate, Coke a Cola, Walt Disney and the theme for the popular animated television series ‘As Told By Ginger’. Vivian has performed with P-Diddy, Ke$ha, Natalie Cole, Will Downing and most recently Chaka Khan, among numerous others. In addition, she recently completed a tour with Joe Cocker on his ‘Hard Knocks’ tour and a stint with Cher for her Las Vegas - Caesars Palace engagement. She has recorded with countless artists over the years including Michael Jackson, and Gavin Degraw.

While working in New York, Vivian began writing her own music and caught the attention of a Virgin Music publishing exec who paired her with a number of up and coming young writers which eventually led to her being sought out by K.G. of Naughty By Nature whom she signed with as an artist and staff writer. Some of Vivian’s publishing credits include Take My Love for David Morales, A Day in the Park for Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Time After Time & Happy for Towa Tei.

After that time Vivian, partnered up with super producer Chris Parks. Since their alliance, the two have written and produced 3 tracks for the Lalah Hathaway album “Outrun the Sky”, and the “Lifetime” album for jazz artist Khani Cole. They’ve also written and produced for American Idol contestant Mario Vazquez and Star Search runner-up Freedom Bremner, along with several others. They have several commercial productions to their credit, including jingles for Volvo, Subaru, Dark & Lovely, and Planned Parenthood as well as interactive gaming projects and music for various cable networks.

The organic chemistry between them and the music they began to create subsequently led them to form SuprDupr Sound Recording Studios; located in Brooklyn’s D.U.M.B.O neighborhood, where they are putting the finishing touches on Vivian’s sophomore release, Heart and completing Chris’ first solo project.
